More Fresh Disasters

Well – I had to sell the motorcycle, in order to (hopefully) put She who must be obeyed’s car back on the road. We SORN’d it back in August last year as we could not afford to run two cars and a bike. Having had a dreadful winter and only putting about 100 miles on the bike, it seemed sensible to sell it and put the aforsaid car back on the road. So It was dutifully booked in for service and MOT at a local garage, who said it should be done by late afternoon. Off we went shopping, getting home at lunch time. Message on the answerphone "Ring Garage!!" in the immortal words of James May "Oh Cock"
"Sorry, but your car has major problems"
"Water has got into the sills and the bushes in the suspension have frozen, is going to cost more than the car is worth to fix"
Upshot being the car was scrapped, and I have now had to find another !
Cheepo – old "P" reg Rover 416 – not in too bad nick - £450. New MOT, new tyres and new brake pads etc., couple of months Tax. Will have to do
Driving home in the new car, saw a year newer Rover 416, same colour even for £350 ! "Oh Cock" again
